Shopping comparison site Shopping.com reports that it served 76 million shoppers from the day after Thanksgiving until Jan. 4, 81% higher than the number of shoppers it hosted the year before. Those shoppers visited retailers' sites 38 million times during that period and spent $237 million with merchants referred from Shopping.com, up 121% from $107 million the year before.
Shopping.com says that 52% of its users are women, a development which propelled the Home and Garden category into first place on Shopping.com.
