Shopping.com’s shopper traffic doubles this holiday season over last year


Shopping comparison site Shopping.com reports that it served 76 million shoppers from the day after Thanksgiving until Jan. 4, 81% higher than the number of shoppers it hosted the year before. Those shoppers visited retailers` sites 38 million times during that period and spent $237 million with merchants referred from Shopping.com, up 121% from $107 million the year before.

Shopping.com says that 52% of its users are women, a development which propelled the Home and Garden category into first place on Shopping.com.

Top categories during holiday shopping 2003 and their rankings in 2002 were:

4. Jewelry and Watches (5)
