Web sales for The Neiman Marcus Group Inc. grew about 30% in the first quarter of fiscal 2006 to $79.3 million from about $61 million for the previous year, while overall sales increased 7.5% to $976.4 million from $907.9 million in Q1 2005.
Overall the web accounted for 8% of total sales in Q1 2006 versus the same period in 2005 when e-commerce represented 7% of total sales.
In October, an investor group led by Texas Pacific Group and Warburg Pincus LLC completed its acquisition of Neiman Marcus, No. 36 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, in a deal valued at $5.1 billion.
