Online sales up 22% for week ending Dec. 4
Online retail sales for the week ending Dec. 4, which included the so-called Black Friday post-Thanksgiving weekend, rose 22%, reaching $2.78 billion from $2.28 billion in the year-ago period, according to comScore Networks Inc.
By comparison, retail sales for three-day post-Thanksgiving weekend were relatively flat, rising just 0.4% over the same period last year, totaling $16.8 billion, according to ShopperTrak RCT Corp.’s National Retail Sales Estimate.
Online travel sales for the full week ending Dec. 4 rose 16% to $1.16 million from $993 million in the corresponding week a year ago, comScore reports.
