New User Interface Framework Combined with Leading-Edge Standards-Based
Technology Platform Streamlines Multi-Enterprise Business Processes
TEWKSBURY, Mass.- May 8, 2002 - Yantra Corporation (www.yantra.com), the
leading provider of enterprise software for the extended supply chain, today
announced immediate availability of Version 4.5 of its Distributed Commerce
Management suite. The announcement was made at Yantra Day, the company`s
annual customer, partner and analyst event.
The new release features a new user interface framework that enables
customers to more effectively extend business processes across multiple
enterprises. Combined with Yantra`s leading edge, standards-based technology
platform, Version 4.5 gives users the ability to streamline the way they
manage complex supply chain processes across multiple channels, divisions
and companies. Best Buy Co., Inc. and School Specialty Inc. are among the
first customers to take shipment of the new release.
With the economy showing signs of recovery, many companies today are trying
to accelerate strategies for multi-channel selling, outsourcing and trading
partner collaboration. The opportunity is compelling: Revenue increases of
up to 5%; operational savings of up to 40%; and inventory reductions of up
to 15%. But central to the success of these initiatives is the ability to
extend, manage and monitor complex business processes across disparate
channels, business units and trading partners.
Yantra`s Distributed Commerce Management solutions enable companies to
extend their business processes to realize these new revenue opportunities,
operational efficiencies and service levels. Built on a real-time,
service-oriented architecture, the solutions feature flexible business
process modeling and best-in-class supply chain management application and
event management functionality. Version 4.5 leverages this architecture and
offers highly configurable, role-based user interfaces for managing critical
supply chain information. This new "action-orientation" provides better
control of order, inventory and logistics processes that extend across
multiple participants and empowers users to operate more efficiently and
effectively.
Highlights of the new release include:
· Enhanced role-based visibility - enables individual users to see only the
information they need. This results in faster decisions involving order and
inventory status, alerts and exceptions, regardless of where the order is in
its lifecycle, or where an event might be occurring across the extended
supply chain.
· Integrated views and control of supply and demand - provides users with a
real-time view of the impact of sales orders and purchase orders on
inventory levels and the ability to take immediate action from a single
location within the application when problems occur.
· Flexible user interface framework - offers users maximum flexibility for
modifying the user interface to meet their specific needs.
According to an October, 2001 report by AMR Research titled Managing Order
Fulfillment Across the Supply Chain, "Many companies have a distributed
order fulfillment network in place that relies on multiple corporate
divisions or business partners to fulfill orders. However, for most of
these companies, it is largely a manual process to manage the network, one
that requires a small army of people to pull information from multiple
systems and coordinate order fulfillment with suppliers and logistics
providers using phone, fax, e-mail, and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
messages. These manual systems are expensive to manage, error-prone, not
scalable, and typically break down under the real-time demands and
compressed business cycles of today`s environment."
"Yantra understands what it takes to effectively manage complex, extended
enterprise business processes, said Devdutt Yellurkar, President and CEO of
Yantra. "Our technology platform was built specifically for that. Version
4.5 takes the power of our platform and puts it in the hands of every user
across the extended supply chain. They get the information they need when
they need it and they can act on it exactly the way they need to act on it."
