Office supplies retailer Business-Supply.com has relaunched with improved site search, navigation and shopping cart features, it said today.
Sales at the Cary, NC-based retailer rose 32% in 2005 over 2004, marketing specialist Mike Mersch tells InternetRetailer.com. Although Builders-Supply doesn’t release sales figures, it did between $4 million and $10 million last year, he adds.
The new site, designed and built in-house, features a new shopping cart that appears on every page with real-time updates that show the number of items and a running subtotal of selected-item prices. Other features were designed to make it easier to find products by description and brand, Mersch says.
The re-design was also intended to elicit broader participation from suppliers, including printer manufacturer Lexmark Inc. and headset provider Plantronics, in providing online marketing materials and product training sessions for Business-Supply.com’s customer care specialists, Mersch says.
