The web now accounts for 58% of all sales at Drs. Foster & Smith
Annual web sales rose 27.6% to $115 million in 2005 from $90.1 million a year earlier at Drs. Foster & Smith Inc. while total sales rose 7.3% to $200 million in 2005 from $186.3 million in 2004.
Drs. Foster & Smith, No.80 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, says web sales are rising for a number of reasons, including key technology upgrades the company made in 2005 and the fact that pet owners of all ages are becoming comfortable in shopping online for pet supplies.
Overall the web accounted for 58% of all sales in 2005 compared to 48% in 2004. “Barring unforeseen factors in world events or the economy, we are looking for strong double-digit growth in 2006,” says Gordon Magee, Internet Marketing and Analysis Manager for Drs. Foster & Smith. Magee is speaking at the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition June 5-7 in Chicago
