Shoebuy.com’s holiday-focused keywords boosted sales and traffic
By monitoring what visitors searched its site for in November, Shoebuy.com developed a new set of Internet search keywords that helped to boost holiday sales 60% year-over-year, co-founder, president and CEO Scott Savitz tells InternetRetailer.com.
“In November we saw high searches for things like ‘holiday shoes’ and ‘winter boots,’ so we created Internet keywords accordingly,” Savitz says. “With help from this information we immediately saw a 25% month-over-month increase in December over November, and overall holiday sales up over 60% against the prior year.”
The keyword campaign also drove up holiday traffic at Shoebuy.com, No. 120 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, Savitz says. “By creating hundreds of keywords focused solely around the holidays and the season, Shoebuy.com experienced over 4 million visitors for December alone,” he says.
