Kozmo loses a key manager
Delivery service Kozmo has lost the general manager of its most important market--New York City. Don Germano, regional vice president and general manageer, has left Kozmo to take a position with Kmart Corp. Kozmo is headquartered in New York.
While most analysts like the idea of one-hour delivery that Kozmo has been built on, the company has had a difficult time making the concept pay. It has pulled out of several key markets, suffered a round of lay-offs and instituted minimum order sizes and a delivery fee as it looks for profitability. Kozmo says Germano`s position will be filled by Scott Evans, vice president of operations.
