DULUTH, GA. (May 28, 2002) – Excess Technologies LLC, an inventory liquidation and auction management service company, announced today that it has expanded its core business by opening a new division to refurbish merchandise for manufacturers, retailers and corporate accounts. Prior to this expansion, the company primarily worked with clients that had products that were ready made for liquidation through the various marketplaces and channels Excess Technologies is integrated with. This new division, which will be located in the Duluth, GA. warehouse, will allow the company to perform services such as product testing, cleaning, repackaging, and kitting prior to the merchandise entering the auction management stage for selling and fulfillment services. The company’s first refurbishment project entailed refurbishing and marketing 1000 handheld computers from a major PC manufacturer.

“We are seeing companies today that have inventory disposition requirements that fit well with our auction management and fulfillment services, but the products require refurbishment or re-certification prior to sale,” stated Joel Holtzman, president and CEO of Excess Technologies. “This new service allows Excess Technologies to complete the disposition product cycle while providing an additional value added service for our clients,” states Holtzman.

Excess Technologies has performed various liquidation services for many high profile companies and brands including Ocean Pacific, Memorex, Bell Telephones, Gevalia Coffee Products, Fila for Woman, Home Shopping Network, Lycos, and more. Specific services provided for managing the auction process include bulk breakdown of product, image capture, product description, template creation, ad posting, payment reconciliation, warehousing, and shipping. Excess Technologies also has an expanded network of traditional offline disposition channels for both domestic and international product liquidation opportunities.
