Bare Necessities targets bigger sales with new e-commerce positions

Seeing online retailing as the key to continued sales growth, Bare Necessities has created two executive positions that focus exclusively on e-commerce.

The company, No. 256 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, has hired Keira Lim to be its new director of online customer acquisition. Lim previously worked at Linkshare, an online affiliate marketing company where she managed accounts including iTunes and Macy’s. Lim also served as director of e-commerce at Hanover Direct Inc., No. 61 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites.

Bare Necessities also has named Gretchen Wahl its new director of online merchandising. Wahl has been a senior manager with the company for three years and formerly worked for online rewards program manager Spree.com, now Allegiance Marketing Resources. Both Lim and Wahl will report to Dan Sackrowitz, vice president of business development and marketing.

The privately held Bare Necessities has realized 60% annualized growth since 1998, company executives say. They believe adding e-commerce directors to oversee enhancement and expansion of online business is key to sustaining sales growth. Bare Necessities sells more than 3,000 styles of bras, panties, shapewear, sleepwear, hosiery and men’s underwear, from over 120 brands.
