Pharmacy-chain web site developer extends its technology offerings

SymRx Inc., a start-up provider of technology solutions to pharmacies, has licensed technology from ClickThings Inc., a New York City-based software technology provider that specializes in server-based collaborative commerce and content management solutions, to provide solutions to its pharmacy clients.

SymRx is building a web-based pharmacy management solution that will provide:
-- Web presences for regional chain, independent, and specialty pharmacies
--Web content for pharmacy customers
--Online ordering of prescription and over-the-counter items
--Reminders to refill prescriptions
--Professional content for the pharmacists themselves, such as pharmacy reference material and drug interaction data.

SymRx says the arrangement with ClickThings` technology will provide better access to managed care contracts, more efficient buying and selling opportunities, better inventory control mechanisms, and enhanced patient care. "Partnering with ClickThings allows us to launch ChainRx, our multiple store platform for regional chains with an interest in branding themselves online as they do in their communities. Together with our CornerDrugstore.com brand, we can now offer any pharmacy in the United States the technology to reach their consumers, vendors and other stakeholders," said Tom Menighan, CEO of SymRx.

SymRx provides Internet technologies to regional chain, independent, and specialty pharmacies through customized web sites.
