Omaha Steaks owner Stephen Simon dies
Omaha Steaks has announced the death at age 66 of fourth-generation owner Stephen H. Simon. Simon, vice president and general manager of the company, died Jan. 22 following complications resulting from a recent surgery for lung cancer.
After graduating from Indiana University, Simon joined Omaha Steaks in the FoodService division in 1961, where he served as general manager. During his more than 40 years with Omaha Steaks, the company grew from a small Midwestern custom beef processor into the nation’s largest direct response marketer of premium beef. The company is No. 88 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites.
