Online currency provider Flooz cuts half its staff

Online gift currency company Flooz.com, promoted by actress Whoopi Goldberg, laid off 35 employees today, which is half the company’s staff. CEO Robert Levitan cited the current downturn in the economy for the cuts. “We continue to have confidence in the viability of our business model.
