Suite e-commerce news for iPhone users

NetSuite Inc. has unveiled SuitePhone software that enables NetSuite users to run business operations using the Apple iPhone. The new software, commercially available next month, supports Safari, Apple’s web browser, which enables NetSuite’s Ajax-based user interface technologies. Available suite components that can be used via the iPhone include e-commerce, enterprise resource management and customer relationship management.

“SuitePhone gives e-commerce executives the ability to manage the breadth of their business while mobile,” says Sean Rolling, senior director of product marketing at NetSuite. “A user can check in real time visitors, inventory, orders and more from their dashboard. If a product is suddenly hot, they can capitalize on the opportunity by creating a promotion or changing a price on the fly. If a product is temporarily out of stock, they might take that product off the site or note the back-order position.”

Further, back-office staff members can use iPhones to remotely access their financial functionality such as invoicing, accounts receivable and payroll. And customer relationship management staffers can remotely enter leads, file expense reports, view contacts, and place quotes and orders.

“With my new iPhone I have so much of the functionality right in my pocket with no additional cost, other than Internet access time, and without having to install any additional layers,” says Brian Keare, COO of e-retailer Circle of Friends. “I have already used it successfully to enter and approve sales orders, make deposits and check inventory.”
