Pump-island web kiosks ready to roll
Ginger Interactive Inc. is preparing to roll out web-based, wireless, pump-island kiosk systems at convenience stores, Gary German, CEO of Ginger Interactive, tells Internet Retailer. The kiosks have been two years in development, German says. German says Ginger Interactive will announce installations this month.
The kiosks will link to a map site so drivers can obtain local directions. The kiosk will print map directions with coupons that the user can use immediately inside the c-store. The kiosks also will link to a local web server which will deliver weather, sports scores, stock quotes, traffic conditions and other information to users.
Ginger was developed to help schoolchildren with disabilities,
technology-intimidated seniors, special needs adults, and public or employee
business niches, German says.
