Descartes Announces Equity Position in Sameday, Embeds Technology Into DeliveryNet Solutions

WATERLOO, ONTARIO, March 6, 2001 - The Descartes Systems Group Inc., (NASDAQ:DSGX)(TSE:DSG.), a leading provider of global Internet logistics solutions, announced today the launch of the first end-to-end dynamic inventory sourcing solution for organizations looking for a competitive advantage in Just-In-Time manufacturing, critical parts sourcing and after-market spare parts management. The complete solution will let users gain visibility and control over inventory - in motion and at rest - of unallocated inventory and allocated inventory.

Descartes also announced today a strategic alliance and equity position in Sameday, a developer of rapid-response product distribution software. Descartes will integrate Sameday`s Syntempo inventory sourcing technology into its complete Internet-based inventory management solution.
