Barnes & Noble.com gets a new president and COO
Barnes & Noble.com has named Marie J. Toulantis as president and chief operating officer, a new position. She has been chief financial officer of Barnes & Noble.com since April 1999. In her new position, she assumes responsibility for merchandising, marketing, engineering and product development for the company. She continues to have responsibility for the company`s finance, investor relations, corporate communications, human resources and other administrative functions.
Toulantis joined Barnes & Noble in 1997 as CFO. She later joined the online division and oversaw the company`s initial public offering in May 1999 that raised $486 million.
In addition, the company named Kevin Frain vice president, finance.
