Online spending reaches $4.3 billion in April, Forrester reports
Consumers spent $4.3 billion online in April, according to the Forrester Online Retail Index, the 16th survey in a monthly series conducted by Forrester Research Inc. and Greenfield Online. In March, online spending totaled $3.5 billion, for growth of 23% in April. Online spending in April 2000 totaled $3.3 billion. The figures are based on a survey of 5,000 consumers in the first nine days of the following month.
Consumers spent an average of $273 per person in April, compared with $263 in March. The survey includes purchases of travel services and event tickets.
