LivePerson’s second quarter revenue grows 57% over year-ago
Second-quarter revenue at LivePerson Inc., provider of live chat for web sites, grew 57% from Q2 a year ago to $11.7 million from $7.4 million, the company reports. In the first six months, revenue expanded 58% to $22.6 million from $14.3 million a year earlier.
Net income for the second quarter was $900,000, more than double last year’s Q2 net income of $400,000. For the first six months, net income reached $1.8 million vs. $700,000 a year earlier.
On the retail side, LivePerson expanded business in the second quarter with Panasonic Corp. and J.C. Whitney Inc.
For the full year, LivePerson expects revenue of $48.5 million to $49.5 million, excluding revenue for the acquisition of Kasamba, a live chat provider of expert advice that LivePerson acquired in June for $40 million. It expects to close the transaction Oct. 1.
