Office Depot names Steven M. Schmidt to executive team
Office Depot Inc. has appointed Steven M. Schmidt president of the North American business solutions division. He oversees channels including e-commerce, direct mail and catalog.
Schmidt succeeds Cindy Campbell, who served as executive vice president of the business solutions division since 2003. Campbell will continue as executive vice president until her planned retirement in March 2008.
Schmidt most recently served for 12 years at ACNielsen Corp., a marketing information and research company. His last position with the company was president and CEO. Prior to ACNielsen, he spent eight years at Pillsbury Food Co., serving as president of Canada and Southeast Asia operations. He also held management positions at PepsiCo and Procter & Gamble.
