Apple holds onto top spot among computer manufacturers’ sites in June
Apple Inc. continued to hold onto its top spot among computer hardware manufacturers’ web sites in June, as measured by unique visitors, reports Nielsen/NetRatings. No. 2 Dell Inc. and No. 3 Hewlett-Packard Co. swapped positions from a month earlier.
The Top 10 computer hardware manufacturer sites, with unique visitors (in millions) this June and last and growth, according to Nielsen/NetRatings, were:
- Apple, 44.00, 36.35, 21%
- Dell, 16.32, 17.30, -6%
- Hewlett-Packard, 15.54, 13.37, 16%
- Sun Microsystems, 3.41, 3.14, 8%
- Nintendo, 2.49, 1.13, 120%
- IBM, 2.11, 2.35, -10%
- Gateway, 1.89, 1.44, 31%
- XBOX, 1.38, 1.13, 22%
- Linksys, 1.18, 1.41, -16%
- Sony Computer Entertainment, 1.18, .93, 27%
(Unique visitors count only once each shopper who came to a site, no matter how many times that shopper visited.)
Apple also led all other computer hardware manufacturers’ sites in time spent by each visitor in June, reports Nielsen/NetRatings. The top sites by time spent (hours:minutes:seconds) and unique visitors in millions were:
