Major League Baseball throws mobile users a fastball

MLB Advanced Media LP, Major League Baseball’s Internet arm, and Research In Motion, a Blackberry software developer, have unveiled an application that gives Blackberry users one-click access to MLB.com, the official web site of Major League Baseball.

Fans can download an MLB.com icon to their BlackBerry smartphone, enabling immediate access to the mobile version of MLB.com.

“This integration will allow fans streamlined access to the MLB.com mobile site for the latest scores, standings, statistics, fantasy news and team information from all 30 major league clubs wherever and whenever their needs arise,” says Adam Ritter, vice president of wireless at MLB Advanced Media, No. 84 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.

BlackBerry customers value the ability to stay connected to a wide range of information in their personal and professional lives, adds Mark Guibert, vice president of corporate marketing at Research In Motion. “The MLB.com mobile site makes it easier and more convenient for baseball fans to satisfy their curiosity and stay on top of the game.”
