Shipment consolidator APX Logistics has filed for bankruptcy and is discontinuing operations, Brad Garberich, CEO, announced today. He cited APX’s “unfavorable financial performance” as the reason.
APX is a shipment consolidator which takes packages from numerous shippers, consolidates them and then inserts them into the postal service at the point that makes the most from a cost and delivery perspective. It employed 1,850 workers at 47 facilities nationwide and shipped 250 million packages a year in 200,000 truckloads. Corporate offices were in Santa Fe Springs, CA, with key support services in Oak Brook, IL.
