New Features Enhance Order Entry and Customer Service Modules
DELRAY BEACH, FL (April 2, 2001) – Ecometry Corporation (NASDAQ: ECOM), the premier provider of integrated software solutions for multi-channel commerce, announced today that it has developed a new, Web-based interface for the visual front-end to its order-entry and customer service platforms. The interface will be standard in all future versions of the Ecometry solution, beginning with Ecometry Retail Enterprise 6.0, which is due for release this summer.
Launched through Microsoft Internet Explorer, the new interface is designed to provide full-view functionality (FVF) in a single screen, giving customer service representatives the ability to take orders and provide customer service without having to access multiple applications. Through the use of tabs, the single screen leads to a wealth of information, including:
· Complete customer interaction and transaction data from all channels
· Product and pricing information, including tax rates
· Shipping options
· Product promotions
“This new release contains our next generation customer service interface, utilizing our COM Objects-based architecture,” said John Marrah, president and COO of Ecometry Corporation. “By providing FVF, we enable our customers to take orders faster and with less training time. Memorizing and entering function codes as part of the order taking process is now a thing of the past.”
The interface also enables remote access, giving sales and service personnel the ability to log on to the customer service and order entry modules of the system from any location that provides Internet access. Companies who frequently employ temporary or seasonal personnel and those who incorporate remote call centers will find the new interface particularly beneficial.
Additionally, retailers will find that the system’s ease of use translates to immediate cost savings as staff training time reduces to a minimum.
According to Allan Gardner, executive vice president and CTO, the release of an FVF Web-based interface is one result of the company’s recent investments into research and development. “With the new architecture of Ecometry Retail Enterprise, our research and development teams are able to focus on expanding the capabilities of the product faster and further. The development of our Web-based interface is but one example of our initiatives. Our mission and our commitment continue to center on providing multi-channel retailers with the technology they need to be leaders in their industry.”
