HSN names a new executive vice president of merchandising

Home Shopping Network has named Rob Gruen as its new executive vice president of merchandising. In his position, which reports to HSN-U.S. president Marty Nealon, Gruen will be responsible for all TV and web merchandising programs, including jewelry, soft goods, health and beauty, home fashions and electronics.

Gruen was previously group vice president of softlines and home at Meijer, a privately owned and operated general merchandise and food retailer with over 170 stores throughout the Midwest. Before Meijer, Gruen was president and CEO of Parisian, the specialty department store division of Saks Inc.

Gruen also served as executive vice president of worldwide marketing and retail business development for Warner Bros. Consumer Products.

Home Shopping Network, No. 31 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, is a business unit of IAC/InterActive Corp. Thomas J. McInerney, IAC/InterActive executive vice president, chief financial officer and CEO of its retail unit, will give the keynote address at the Internet Retailer 2006 Conference & Exhibition in a session titled Taking E-Retailing to the Next Level.
