Boca Java brews a blogging strategy
A growing number of web retailers are using blogs as a marketing tool to promote products and gather customer feedback. But online coffee retailer Boca Java is taking blogging to another level.
In addition to launching a new blogging and e-commerce site, BloggersFuel.com, Boca Java is targeting bloggers as consumers and gourmet coffee drinkers. “There is a convergence of the expanding blogging community and the continuing growth in the $10 billion gourmet coffee market," says founder and president Bruce Frcek. "With an estimate of more than 50 million blogs in existence, and an estimated 65,000 more every day, there`s an enormous opportunity to design coffee products for this untapped consumer audience. “
The new site is being developed as both an online community and an e-commerce site. Boca Java is No. 273 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites. BloggersFuel.com is directly linked to BocaJava.com, which carries an inventory of 20 signature roasts, estate coffees and flavored blends.
On BloggersFuel.com, visitors can shop for coffee, read and contribute to personal blogs, and enter a contest to help design a new blogger’s coffee blend. “Targeting products to an audience that spends a significant amount of time within the online marketplace is a strategic milestone for Boca Java,” Frcek says.
