Eddie Bauer provides the best site optimization in February
Eddie Bauer provided visitors and shoppers with the most bytes per second in February, according to a new performance index by Gomez Inc.
The index of the web’s 50 largest retailers as ranked by annual e-commerce sales shows that customers using a high broadband connection, low broadband connection or dial-up on average could access about 19.67 bytes of information per second from Eddiebauer.com. Eddie Bauer was followed by Nordstrom (14.48 bytes), Netflix (10.35 bytes), Zappos (7.61 bytes), Peapod (6.76 bytes), Quixtar (6.58 bytes), Sony Style (6.14 bytes), Avon (5.32 bytes), Toys “R” Us (5.25 bytes) and Neiman Marcus (5.06 bytes).
Measuring how many bytes per second shoppers can download using multiple connections is a key indicator of web site performance and customer satisfaction. Overall shoppers could access an average of about 3.4 bytes per second on the 50 largest retail sites, according to Gomez.
