Lillian Vernon plans to hire 3,300 holiday workers
Lillian Vernon Corp. is looking for more than a few good men and women—3,300 to be exact—to help it handle holiday orders that account for 65% of the annual sales for the catalog and online retailer of housewares and home furnishings.
The company is recruiting for the positions in the Virginia Beach, VA, area where it has its headquarters and distribution center. Jobs being filled include pickers, packers, material handlers, forklift operators, and personalization and embroidery machine operators. The company says it personalizes 5.3 million items each year.
25% of seasonal workers return to work at Lillian Vernon each holiday season, the company says. “We treat all of our employees fairly, and we are especially grateful to and respectful of our seasonal staff,” says Mark McGowan, vice president of human resources. “We could not be successful without them.”
