Kevin Saliba named permanent CEO at online art dealer Imagekind.com
Kevin Saliba has been named CEO on a permanent basis at Imagekind.com, a web site that sells framed art from digital files supplied by artists. Saliba, had been interim CEO for four months during a planned transition.
Saliba succeeds Kelly Smith, one of the founders of the venture capital firm Curious Office which helped fund Imagekind Inc. Smith will remain on the board of Imagekind while he returns to Curious Office to incubate new start-ups.
“Kevin’s promotion affords me the ability to take the necessary time to consider other business opportunities while simultaneously leaving the Imagekind shareholders in the hands of an intelligent, talented and experienced management team,” Smith says.
Saliba joined Imagekind in September as president and chief operating officer. He was previously director of strategic initiatives at online travel site Expedia.
Imagekind.com went live in August 2006. The company is privately held and does not report revenue. But a spokesman says the company’s sales have grown by double-digit percentages each month since its launch.
