Former Ecometry CEO John Marrah joins ProfitCenter Software
ProfitCenter Software Inc., a relative newcomer among providers of order management systems, today announced it has hired John Marrah as president and CEO. Marrah had been president of PCS competitor Escalate Retail and before that president and CEO of Ecometry, one of two companies that merged last year to form Escalate.
PCS has hired two other senior executives since April, and Marrah says the company plans to expand significantly in the next few months from its current headcount of 100 employees. “The sales organization has been very successful, and we’re going to focus on the implementation and development process to bring the product to customers faster and in a more effective manner,” Marrah tells Internet Retailer.
Les Johnson joined PCS recently as vice president of professional services, a position he held at Ecometry, and Dominique Laborde came on board in April as chief operating officer. Laborde was most recently chief technology officer at software developer Vertafore and previously held positions with Business Objects, Dun & Bradstreet, American International Group and Computer Associates.
Marrah replaces PCS’ former president, Matthew Ehrlich, who resigned for personal reasons, the company says.
Marrah says PCS is seeking to hire developers as it ramps up to deliver its outsourced order management system to more customers. PCS, a subsidiary of online computer retailer Systemax Inc., says it has 40 customers under contract. However, the company, which began selling its system two years ago, only has five clients live, two of them Systemax subsidiaries. Systemax is No. 24 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
“I consider John to be the world’s leading executive in the direct marketing and multi-channel retail software industry, and his joining PCS recognizes the company and its product’s strong position as the right technology platform for the direct marketing industry in the future,” says Richard Leeds, Systemax chairman, president and CEO. “John Marrah provides the mature senior leadership and experience necessary to take the PCS product and business to the next level.”
Marrah, 45, spent nearly nine years at the helm of Ecometry, which merged in August 2006 with GERS Retail to form Escalate Retail.
