Roxio offers Mac users relief in video downloading
Roxio, a division of Sonic Solutions and an online provider of digital media software, has released a family of software aimed specifically to enable users of Apple Inc.’s Mac devices to download videos and transfer them to DVD or to portable devices. The software is a new version of its Popcorn software, called Popcorn 3.
“As the proliferation of video sources and playback options continues, we wanted to provide Mac users with the most flexible application for accessing video content anytime, anywhere," says Vito Salvaggio, vice president, Mac Business Unit, Sonic Solutions. "With the most comprehensive support for the newest portable devices and Roxio`s exclusive support for TiVoToGo transfers on the Mac, Popcorn 3 is an ideal solution for consumers who want to enjoy their video whenever and wherever they want."
Popcorn 3 includes universal video conversion and encoding technology optimized for a broad selection of devices, allowing Mac users to transfer videos to iPhones, iPods, Apple TV, BlackBerries, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, TiVoToGo and EyeTV.
Popcorn 3 is available in retail stores and at roxio.com for $49.99. The company says previous owners of Toast and Popcorn may be eligible for special upgrade pricing.
