WHOLESECURITY APPOINTS WAYNE PERIMAN AS VICE PRESIDENT, THREAT CONTENT

Former Computer Associates Executive Brings Deep Knowledge of Security Threats and Market

AUSTIN, TEXAS — June 20, 2005 — WholeSecurity, the leading provider of behavioral, on-demand endpoint security solutions, today announced it has named Wayne Periman as Vice President of Threat Content. Periman, formerly Computer Associates’ VP of Threat Content Development, has more than 24 years of security and telecommunications technology experience. In his new position with WholeSecurity, he will oversee all Confidence Online™ research analysis, threat collection, and all behavioral threat content development and processes on a global basis.

“Viruses and other malicious threats are now able to circle the globe in just minutes. To address this new reality, security solutions must move beyond the traditional signature approach and move toward behavioral-based technology. Being asked to play a major role in developing WholeSecurity’s technology in this area was an opportunity I could not miss,” said Periman.

“Wayne brings deep understanding and experience in the anti-virus and anti-spyware marketplace to his new position,” said Peter Norwood, Senior Vice President of Products and Services. “He will lead our efforts in researching and analyzing malicious and valid content to further build our behavioral analysis engine that is the heart of our Confidence Online solutions.”

While at CA, Periman worked with multiple Fortune 1000 companies, government, and standards bodies to define security practices and information sharing. He was responsible for content development to enable CA’s eTrust products including anti-virus, anti-spyware, vulnerability management, policy compliance, intrusion detection, and anti-spam.

Prior to joining CA, Periman was a director of content research and infrastructure for eSecurityOnline, formerly a subsidiary of Ernst & Young and now a part of CA. While there, he was responsible for designing, building and maintaining the web infrastructure to deliver the company’s product. He also has served as a certified instructor and consultant for technical networking at Niche Networks.

In addition, Periman served in the U.S. Air Force for 17 years where he was hand-picked within the initial cadre of 10 to establish the first USAF Information Warfare Squadron. This group designed and implemented the first global VPN to manage security gateways in the Middle East during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
