Why They're Hot:

If you think UrbanGirl.com sounds like a place to buy the latest fashions, you'd be right. But rather than sell skirts and shoes, the web-only startup sells trendy, girlie office supplies. The site features a clean, contemporary design and bright colors to present products such as colorful binder clips and drawer organizers, along with tape dispensers shaped like shoes. UrbanGirl.com is an offshoot of Sundance Office Supplies, which began as John and Dyan Condry's traditional office supply company in 1989. The pair hatched UrbanGirl at their dinner table in early 2012, says Tyler Condry, the owner's son and marketing manager. "We wanted to get into the online retail game," he says, "but didn't want to compete against big office supplies companies."
