Online retail sites in the bets of taste

The eight food and drug retailers in this year’s Hot 100 offer unique content, features or functions, and engage consumers with an online shopping experience that is both easy to use and informative.

Why They're Hot:

Drugstore and pharmacy retailer CVS in August launched a handy online tool that helps consumers find information about prescription and non-prescription drugs. Clicking the Drug Information Center tab featured on's home page opens a dialog box where a shopper can enter a drug's name to view information about its effects, consult a drug interaction checker, print out a pocket-sized medication list or type in the color or shape of a pill in case it got separated from its original packaging. The drug information page also contains an image of the medicine, text and an audio clip that describes the medicine's use. It even provides aggregated statistics based on CVS customers that use that particular medicine, such as how many CVS prescriptions are filled for the generic version.
