Shoebuy launches a new designer shoes and accessories site

Online shoe and accessories retailer Shoebuy.com Inc. has launched a new site to appeal to those customers shopping for designer brands of shoes, handbags, jewelry, eyewear and other merchandise. The new site, Designer.Shoebuy.com, launched yesterday and offers features such as slide imagery.

“Features also include the ability to narrow your search by size, width, color, heel height, price, country of origin, and shop by departments and specific collections all focused on allowing the individual to have a seamless shopping experience in the world of designer and luxury,” says James Keller, senior vice president of marketing, Shoebuy.com. The web-only retailer, No. 90 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, spent six months developing the new site.

The designer site includes brand call-outs so that when a customer hovers her mouse over an image she sees a box with the product’s brand.

Keller says the company isn’t concerned about launching a store that carries luxury products in the current economy. “We think it is listening to the customer and giving them the things they want and raising the bar on the consumer experience that is allowing us to do well whether it is a good retail environment or a struggling economy,” says Keller.

In developing the site, Shoebuy, a subsidiary of IAC, collaborated with design houses Hugo Boss, Nicole Miller and Bally.
