Portero Inc., an online marketplace for pre-owned, authenticated, luxury goods, has named Susan Engel its new CEO.
Engel brings to Portero years of senior management experience and a track record of building consumer brands, the company says. Prior to joining Portero, Engel was chair and CEO of Lenox Group Inc.; CEO of Champion Products, a division of Sara Lee Corp.; and a partner at Booz, Allen and Hamilton, now Booz & Co.
Engel currently serves on the boards of SuperValue Inc. and Wells Fargo & Co.
“We are very pleased that an executive of Susan’s caliber has joined our company,” says Atelier Group’s Jon Brilliant, a member of Portero’s board of directors. “Her breadth and depth of operating and creative merchandising experience will serve the company well as we enter our next phase of expansion.”
