Bodybuilding.com, a fitness site and online retailer of nutritional supplements, has named Michael McClane chief financial officer. McClane has 17 years experience providing financial and operational expertise in both the public and private sectors. Most recently, McClane was chief financial officer at U.S. Auto Parts Network, No. 102 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
McClane will focus on financial systems, business analytics and overall business execution, says Ryan DeLuca, CEO of Bodybuilding.com, a part of QVC Inc., No. 11 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
In addition to bringing financial and operational expertise, McClane is a fitness enthusiast and avid mountain biker who also enjoys surfing, running and working out, and as such is a good fit for the Bodybuilding.com team, DeLuca says. These passions, he adds, will help McClane in aiding the retailer to fulfill the company mission of helping visitors and customers reach their health, fitness and appearance goals through information, motivation and use of nutritional supplements.
“Michael brings an insane amount of experience and enthusiasm to Bodybuilding.com,” DeLuca says, “and understands what we are trying to accomplish.”
Bodybuilding.com offers more than 10,000 health and fitness supplements and accessories and more than 25,000 web pages of free bodybuilding and fitness information, including more than 12,000 articles, videos and audio files, the company reports. It also operates its own social network, BodySpace.
