JDA Software Group Inc., a provider of web-enabled merchandising and supply chain software for retailers and their trading partners, said revenue rose 8.3% year over year to $99.5 million for the second quarter ended June 30.
Net income for the quarter more than doubled to $8.9 million from $3.1 million, as it closed 68 new software contracts during Q2.
The contracts closed in Q2 included $14.4 million in JDA’s Americas region with retailers including Carter’s Inc., Chico’s FAS Inc., Mountain Equipment Co-op and Sparta Stores Inc.; $5 million in its Europe, Middle East and Africa region with retailers including Carrefour SA and J Sainsbury plc; and $8.2 million in Asia Pacific with retailers including Bohol Quality Mall and China Resources Vanguard Co. Ltd.
“These results are driving growth for the company in a tough environment, and we have started to see the turn-around in our consulting services metrics that we had previously forecasted,” JDA CEO Hamish Brewer says.
For the six months ended June 30, JDA reported revenue of $182.8 million, down 1.6% from $185.7 million in the year-earlier period.
Net income for the six months ended June 30 was $11.6 million, up 38% from $8.4 million a year ago.
