The economy might be stormy, but online advertising technology company Linkstorm is still able to find investors. The business announced today it has raised $2.8 million.
The new investors include Rick Braddock, current president and chief operating officer of FreshDirect.com, and Donn Rappaport, co-founder and CEO of American List Counsel and the 2008 chairman of the industry trade group the Direct Marketing Association.
“Linkstorm continues to attract marketing visionaries as investors, board members and employees,” says Ari Brandt, CEO, who recently joined Linkstorm after working with Condé Nast Digital, Yahoo, Doubleclick and SmartMoney.com. “Our recruiting efforts are succeeding for the same reason that advertisers, agencies and publishers are ramping up their activity with us: that in this challenging economy, our message of restoring the ROI for display advertising is resonating with all players.”
The company says the funds will be used to expand its sales force and to continue building its features and infrastructure.
Linkstorm’s clients include Wal-Mart, IBM and Microsoft. Earlier this month, Linkstorm named Lou Tosto senior vice president of sales and operations. Tosto was formerly ad director for SmartMoney.com.
