Golfsmith International Holdings Inc. has announced that Virginia Bunte has resigned as senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective March 3. Her departure is not due to any disagreements over policy, practices or financial reporting, the company says.
Following Bunte’s departure, Sue E. Gove, executive vice president and chief operating officer, will assume additional responsibilities as chief financial officer. Before joining Golfsmith in September 2008, Gove had been an independent consultant for more than two years after several years at jeweler Zale Corp., where she held many executive positions, including chief operating officer and chief financial officer.
“We are fortunate to have Sue Gove on our team to act as interim chief financial officer given her deep and successful experience in the finance area,” says chairman and CEO Martin Hanaka.
Golfsmith is No. 214 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide and Zale is No. 170.
