RadioShack names a new chief marketing officer

Lee Applbaum has been named executive vice president and chief marketing officer at electronics retailer RadioShack Corp.

He will be responsible for advertising, brand management, customer relations management and marketing for the company’s stores and e-commerce site, which is No. 235 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide. Applbaum will report to chairman and CEO Julian Day and be part of the five-member office of the chairman.

Applbaum previously was chief marketing officer at The Schottenstein Stores Corp., and before that worked for such companies as The Coca-Cola Company, Schlotzsky’s Inc., Footstar Inc., David’s Bridal Inc. and American Cyanamid Company.

"Lee's joining us at RadioShack represents another significant step in strengthening our senior management team," Day says. "Lee's background and successful track record position him well to add value to our brand."
