Online giant eBay has again topped the list of retailer searches. The term “ebay” received nearly 17 million searches during the month of August, according to data provided to Internet Retailer from Nielsen Online’s MegaView Search Custom Data. The MegaView Search data is based on tallies from 58 representative search engines.
In retailer name searches, the terms “walmart” and “target” followed, with almost 4.5 million and nearly 2.9 million searches, respectively.
The term “webkinz” topped the list of product searches in August, according to Nielsen Online. The web-linked stuffed animals received more than 5.5 million searches. Product searches were dominated by toys and games during the month. The terms “games” and “dress up games” received almost 1.6 million and nearly 1.2 million searches, respectively.
