CVS Corp. is taking the wraps off a completely redesigned web site.
The new site for CVS, No. 85 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, features an updated online pharmacy with new prescription management tools that allow patients to view and print their prescription history, order refills, transfer prescriptions, and manage their children’s prescriptions.
With the new online pharmacy options, CVS.com visitors also can sign up and receive refill reminders by e-mail and schedule prescription deliveries for home or for pick-up in a nearby store. Other enhanced site features include content on drugs such as generic alternatives and health and wellness information. “The new CVS.com offers the tools for customers to handle their pharmacy health care in a way that is easy and convenient, such as renewing a prescription without having to have a prescription vial in hand or arranging a pick-up location that is closer to home,” says Helena Foulkes, senior vice president, health services, for CVS Caremark.
CVS.com, which carries an online inventory of about 25,000 SKUs, has been expanded to include thousands of additional health and beauty products, CVS says. The shopping section has buttons for what CVS calls “popular shopping aisles” for allergy and asthma, baby and child, bone and joint care, diabetes care, facial moisturizers, fertility and ovulation, food and snacks, stop smoking, thinning hair, and weight loss.
To make shopping easier for visitors with health care savings or flexible spending accounts, CVS.com also has been updated with an FSA eligible products category and posted flags on specific FSA products.
