BabyAge.com hires Marty Nealon for merchandising and operations post

Marty Nealon, a 15-year veteran of retail planning and inventory management, has been named vice president of merchandising and operations at baby and juvenile products e-retailer BabyAge.com Inc.

BabyAge.com, No. 280 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, hired Nealon for his experience in planning and forecasting merchandise and developing streamlined shipping systems that reduce costs, the retailer says. “His planning and merchandising expertise and years of experience will support our current record-breaking sales as well as our continuous focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience,” says president and CEO Jack Kiefer, who founded BabyAge.com in 1999.

As one of his major goals, Nealon will refine and expand merchandising strategies to grow the retailer’s private label brands Today’s Baby, Today’s Tot and Today’s Mom, BabyAge says.

Nealon will coordinate merchandising and operations management with vice president of sales Jacob Weiss and Julie Space, vice president of marketing and customer experience, the retailer says.

Kiefer is speaking at the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition, June 9-12 in Chicago, in two sessions entitled First you crawl: The evolution of a web site, and Make sure your new technology will do what it's supposed to do.
