Brandmail Solutions, which verifies the authenticity of e-mail with technology developed by Cisco Systems and search engine Yahoo, has recruited two executives from Cisco. John Braskamp has been named chief operating officer and Seth Redmore vice president of marketing.
Braskamp led the operations and marketing organizations for the Network Software & Systems Technology Group at Cisco. Redmore most recently led a team at Cisco that built a business intelligence system.
Brandmail uses the Domain Keys Identified Mail protocol, which was co-developed by Cisco and Yahoo, to verify the identify of an e-mail sender.
The company, which was founded last year, also named three new members of its advisory board. They are: Mike Santullo, who was the CEO and co-founder of online phone directory Four11 and of e-mail service RocketMail, now YahooMail; Mike Cassidy, who has been co-founder and CEO of start-ups Xfire, Direct Hit and Stylus Innovation; and Seamus McAteer, co-founder, chief product architect and senior analyst at mobile data specialist M:Metrics.
Brandmail has offices in Palo Alto, CA, Dublin, Ireland, and Cologne, Germany.
