Comparison site Pronto.com adopts the Hacker Safe program

Pronto.com, a comparison shopping site that is part of IAC/InterActiveCorp, is joining shopping sites PriceGrabber.com and Yahoo Shopping in incorporating ScanAlert Inc.’s Hacker Safe logo in merchant listings. A merchant who participates in the Hacker Safe program can pay an additional fee to have the Hacker Safe logo appear in their listings.

Pronto.com indexes more than 70 million products. ScanAlert provides a daily feed of currently certified sites to Pronto.com.

“Making Hacker Safe an important part of the aggregated product data that we deliver to consumers enables them to make more informed choices about where to shop,” says Greg Stevens, Pronto.com’s chief revenue officer. “It benefits everyone because consumers can easily find secure and trustworthy retailers, while participating retailers can benefit from the increased exposure of displaying this trusted certification to shoppers.”

ScanAlert reports that its studies show that displaying a Hacker Safe seal directly in comparison shopping pages results in over 10% more shopping clicks and over 14% higher click-to-sale rate on average.
