Q: Are trust seals worth the expense?

Daily I get offers from different trust company's promising to boost sales and conversions if we use their services. These include McAfee Secure, VeriSign, Truste, BuySafe .I am an e-tailer with a limited budget now.. I would love to boost conversion but not if its going to bankrupt us

A: Test it out and see if it works for you.

Many e-commerce sites have had success with trust verification seals, such as McAfee, VeriSign, and Truste. There are real $ from increased conversions associated with the addition of these seals for many sites, especially if the seals are implemented into cart and checkout pages near payment fields. However, they are not a guarantee and we have seen e-commerce sites test a 'vendor seal' vs 'their own brand seal' and do just as well. The good news is that you can sign up and test these trust seals and see if it is right for you.
