The Fontainebleau Is Back—And Beautiful
We are pleased that the Web Design '09 Conference will be one of the first events held at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach following the completion of a two-and-a-half year reconstruction project that completely restores the former glory of one America's foremost resorts. When Ben Novack's magnificent Fontainebleau Hotel on Miami Beach opened during in 1954, it immediately became the largest and most elegant hotel in U.S. Built on the site of the Firestone Mansion, where the art deco hotels of South Beach ended and the mansions of America's elite began, the famously curved Fontainebleau was a stunning mixture of American modern and French baroque. More than any other structure of its time, it symbolized America's post-war power and wealth. Its poolside cabanas were so lavish they doubled as guest rooms when the hotel was booked. With its magnificent ballroom, spacious meeting rooms, plentiful restaurants and bars, the Fontainebleau was also a great hotel for a conference.
After $1 Billion Rebirth, the Grandeur Is Back
Now, it is even more so. Closed for two-and-half years, the Fontainebleau reopens this fall following the completion of a $1 billion rebuilding project that captures its original elegance and regains its position as one of America's leading beach resorts. It is here that we proudly host the second annual Web Design '09 Conference. A more perfect spot to get the creative juices flowing cannot be found.
Web Design '09 will be held in the Fontainebleau's 33,630-square-foot Sparkle Ballroom—two third of which will be walled off for all conference sessions and the remaining space occupied by the 45 booths that comprise an Exhibit Hall that wraps around the conference room. Adjacent to and just behind the conference ballroom are the 12 large suites that will be used for the free private web design consultations. (See the Web Design Consultations Page).
When attendees are not in sessions or design consultations, they can network and relax in what is once again the most lavish resort in Florida. It includes: eleven restaurants and lounges, including three operated by world-renown chefs, a two-story, 40,000 foot state-of-the-art spa and exercise facility, 30 luxury cabanas featuring large flat-screen TVs and broadband Internet Access, and a plethora of shops featuring designer apparel and beachwear.
