An Epic Redesign

In early 2007, Epic Dental, a Utah-based dental products retailer, was shopping for a design firm to redesign its e-commerce retail site—EpicDental.com. After several tries over the years with domestic and overseas designers, the site still hadn't achieved what Epic management wanted: functionality, effective navigation, and a user friendly checkout. Epic's hunt for a design firm and this time took it to Groove Commerce. Epic approached Groove with three goals: to introduce navigation that spoke to different types of potential customers, increase conversion rates for new and returning visitors, and create a more user-friendly web site overall. Epic was also looking to increase organic search engine traffic and to optimize paid search campaigns for a boost in ROI. Since Groove's redesign and ongoing marketing initiatives, Epic Dental's web sales have more than doubled. In the past 10 months, organic traffic has increased nearly 50%, ROI from paid search has doubled, and conversion is up over 20%.
