| Day Two: Feb. 1, 2008 |
1:30 - 2:15 p.m. Are your doors open and lights on? Jeremy Dalnes,
Vice President of e-Business, Panasonic North America John Lovett,
Senior Analyst, JupiterResearch One of the scariest aspects of running a web site is not knowing how the site operates in different places around the country or around the world. Without sophisticated monitoring techniques, retailers can't tell if a group of users, whether they be in a certain place in the world or users of a certain type of browser, are able to access their site. No amount of fancy design or captivating rich media can make up for the loss of customers that a retailer can suffer if the site is not accessible to all users. To overcome that problem, a number of web site monitoring companies have arisen. This session will tell retailers what's available, what these companies monitor and how to use the information they gather. It will also walk retailers through how to choose a monitoring company and what to look for in a contract that will ensure the retailer is receiving timely information that a company can act on. |
